Minister Wells was elected to the House of Representatives for Lilley, Queensland, in 2019 and re-elected in 2022 and 2025.
Wells was appointed Minister for Aged Care and Minister for Sport in 2022, elevated to Cabinet Minister from January 2025 and appointed Minister for Communications and Sport from May 2025.
Minister Wells has led major government reforms, including a once-in-a-generation, human-rights centred Aged Care Act, and has led the Governmentβs historic social media minimum age law along with a range of online safety reforms including developing the Digital Duty of Care, which she will discuss at the National Press Club.
