The proximity to Parliament House makes the National Press Club the perfect location for a quick social lunch between meetings or a premium private dinner with clients. Our award-winning Chatham House Restaurant and Club Lounge offer an impressive modern Australian menu, that combines Press Club classic favourites with local seasonal menu options to suit all tastes.

The Club Lounge offers a range of lighter meals designed to be enjoyed with a beverage from our impressive selection of boutique beers and wine; ideal for busy professionals and journalists with deadlines to meet.    
 

Music at the Club

Entertainment is top of our agenda on Friday evenings when we feature some of Australia’s best live music.

Music provides an elegant backdrop for the private discussions and vigorous debates that shape Australia. The National Press Club proudly hosts some of Canberra - and the nation’s - most beloved bands and solo artists. Friday nights are reserved for jazz as we put you in the mood for the weekend ahead with some romantic moody blues.

Our regular National Press Club addresses attract global decision-makers and influencers; driving the Australian debate forward. A suite of function rooms mean we can cater for corporate functions and weddings of any size, scale and theme. The thinking person’s social venue, we also offer a range of entertainment and dining options to members and their guests.

Getting to the club

The National Press Club is conveniently located in the Parliamentary Triangle of Canberra.

The airport is approximately 6.5km away (about 10 minutes drive) with the centre of Canberra less than 5km away. Car parking is available onsite for members attending the Club from 11am weekdays. Additional parking for guests is available nearby under the Realm (24 underground parking) and at Little National.Bus route 830 has a bus stop on National Circuit near Kings Avenue.
