Boris Pistorius
Boris Pistorius has been Federal Minister of Defence since January 19, 2023. Before from 2013 on, he was Minister of the Interior and Sport in Lower Saxony. From 2006 until 2013, he was lord mayor of Osnabrück city. Before he studied law at the Osnabrück and Münster universities, he did his military service.

Professor Rory Medcalf AM FAIIA has been Head of the National Security College (NSC) at The Australian National University since 2015. He has led the expansion of the College into policy impact, futures analysis, parliamentary engagement, international dialogue and capacity-building, in addition to its core activity in executive development, academic education and research. It is trusted as a go-to institution in Australia’s policy landscape, with exceptional networks and an alumni of many thousands of security practitioners.
Rory Medcalf has more than 30 years of experience across diplomacy, intelligence analysis, think tanks, academia and journalism, including as founding Director of the International Security Program at the Lowy Institute.
