Zach Smith, National Secretary & ACT Branch Secretary at CFMEU (Construction and General Division), will Address the National Press Club of Australia.
Zach Smith officially took over as the national secretary of the CFMEU's construction and general division in April.
At 35, Smith is one of the youngest national leaders in the union movement. He became national secretary after leading the ACT branch, a role he continues to hold.
Smith grew up in Victoria's Gippsland region and started his career working for the union's furnishing and forestry products division. He then relocated to Canberra to work for the ACT branch.
Smith is passionate about achieving meaningful change for working people. He has vowed to involve the CFMEU in public debates and campaigns about core economic issues in order to shape better public policy for Australian workers.
