Andrew McKellar, The chief executive of the Australian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ACCI), will make his Address to the National Press Club of Australia on Revitalising economic reform: an agenda for the Jobs and Skills Summit and beyond’.

Andrew McKellar is the chief executive of the Australian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ACCI) – the nation’s largest business organisation, representing employers of every size and sector in Canberra, across the country, and around the globe.

Under Andrew’s leadership, ACCI champions policies that enable businesses to innovate, invest, and grow, promoting Australia’s economic strength and international competitiveness.

Previously, Andrew served as secretary general for mobility at the Federation Internationale de l’Automobile, based in Paris; chief executive of the Australian Trucking Association; chief executive of the Australian Automobile Association; and chief executive of the Federal Chamber of Automotive Industries.

Earlier in his career, Andrew worked in government, serving as a senior adviser to successive federal industry ministers.  He also worked in the Department of the Prime Minister and Cabinet, and Commonwealth and Queensland treasuries.

Andrew holds a Bachelor of Economics from the Australian National University.

In experiencing significant headwinds, including the global pandemic and ensuing economic constraints, the state of Australian business has proven to be able, agile and resilient. Yet compounding challenges reveal that we must not take our strong position for granted.

Ahead of the federal government’s September Jobs and Skills Summit, Australian Chamber of Commerce and Industry chief executive Andrew McKellar will address the National Press Club, outlining the business community’s agenda for future economic reform.

This renewed agenda  must urgently address the supply constraints holding back our economy.  We must build capacity, transform our gridlocked industrial relations system, and revitalise productivity so that all Australians can benefit from increased opportunity.
