Full Membership

Available to working and retired journalists, or those who are making, or have made, a journalistic contribution.

Available to working journalists and to those who have previously worked in the media. Full membership is also available for those in related fields such as media relations, public affairs, or marketing, who are making or have made a journalistic contribution. Applications for full membership are determined by the Board. You must be proposed and seconded by existing members. A joining fee of $50 applies for New Full Members.

Available to individuals who are not journalists but with an ardent interest in the Speaker Address program.

Available to individuals who are not journalists but with an interest in the Speaker Address program. You must be proposed and seconded by existing members. A joining fee of $50 applies for New Affiliate Members.

Diplomatic Membership

Available to individuals from overseas diplomatic missions currently serving at an Embassy in Australia.

A joining fee of $50 applies for New Diplomatic Members. This membership is supported by Rare Cancers in partnership with Prospection.

Available for new members and Canberra locals, seeking a community of professionals in a premium social setting.

Available only to new members who are Canberra locals, wanting to participate in social member events.

  • Priority booking and discounted tickets for all club events, excluding the National Press Club Address. Subject to availability social members may still book tickets to the National Press Club Addresses as non-member rates;

Available to working and retired journalists who reside in the greater Sydney metropolitan area seeking special access to Press Club events.

Available to members who declare in writing that they will reside outside of Australia for a period of six months or more.

Available to full time students with an interest in the Speaker Address program.

Parliamentary Membership

Available to federal parliamentary members and their staff.

Available to federal Parliamentary members, Chief of Staff (COS) and Media Advisors. Applications of this kind can be made by contacting membership@npc.org.au and providing your details. This membership is supported by Rare Cancers in partnership with Prospection.
