Jonno Zilber & the Zilberfish big band!

Thursday 18, September 2008

The Hottest Little Big Band in Town!

Lead singer, Jonno Zilber is a Blues singer/guitarist who has been performing Blues music since he was 12 years old. For his 18th birthday he decided he would round up some of his favourite musicians from the local Blues scene and his old high school (including the music teacher, of course) to put together a big, swingin' band just for somthing a little different. Their debut night was very succesful and Jonno & The Zilberfish left the crowd at The National Press Club of Australia screaming for more. The band features Jonno Zilber on vocals and guitar, two of his incredibly talented high school friends Dave Hughes and Max Williams on Alto and Tenor Saxophones, as well as their music teacher, Rod Harding on Trombone and general music nerdy things like horn arrangements. Not to mention Cameron Smith, the man of many bands on the Trumpet. The rhythm section features the dynamic Canberran Drum and Upright Bass duo of Mitch Preston and Brian (Dr. Brain) Taylor, and finally, Leo Joseph, hot boogie keyman and all 'round musical genius on the Keys all of Mama's Blooz House.
