We are thrilled to announce that we are renovating the first floor of the club! The first floor will close on Friday July 25 and all operations will move to the ground floor. We expect to reopen the first floor in early October.

FAREWELL PARTIES - "LAST HURRAH AT THE PRESS CLUB BAR" Live music, fond memories and celebrations THURSDAY JULY 24 AND FRIDAY JULY 25.
RESTAURANT TRADING - the restaurant will operate from the ground floor for lunch 12 - 2 Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday. Due to the National Australia Bank Address the restaurant will not be open for lunch on Wednesdays. Dinner will be served 7-9pm Wednesday, Thursday and Friday evenings.
BAR - The cocktail bar situated on the ground floor will be fully operational while the first floor is closed.
RECEPTION - Club reception will be on the ground floor.
CLUB ENTRY - entry will be on the ground floor by the driveway, there will be no access to the top floor.
CAR PARK - Members may use the carpark however will need to walk to the front of the building to gain entry to the club.
ENTERTAINMENT -Thursday night live music will be on the ground floor in the Bourke Street room, check our entertainment page for times, Friday evenings we will feature Jazz duos in the cocktail bar on the ground floor from 6-9pm.

Stephen Hinch joined Manpower in February 2006 as General Manager, Marketing & Communications. Stephen oversees all areas of Marketing, Research, Public Relations, Corporate Communications and Brand Management.
Stephen pioneered the Manpower Market Insights Group (MMIG) to ensure Manpower clients are kept up to date with market, industry and candidate insights. Drawing on his knowledge of labour market analysis, advertising, market trends, demographic trends and consumer trends, Stephen has quickly become the voice of knowledge at Manpower and regularly speaks at industry & public events.
Prior to joining Manpower, Stephen held senior executive roles with Mitchell Media Partners & Zenith Media in Australia. He was the Vice President for Group Sales and Marketing for Interep in Texas, USA, before moving to Australia in 1995.

Prior to joining Access Economics in 1988, Chris worked at the Federal Treasury and heads Access Economics Macroeconomic Group and is one of Australia’s leading macroeconomists. Chris is also renowned for advising countries in the former Soviet Union and South America and he continues to provide economic insights via the Business Review Weekly ‘Fundamentals’ column.
PROF. PETER MCDONALD
Director – Australian Demographic & Social Research Institute
The Australian National University
Peter McDonald is Professor of Demography at the Australian National University and Director of the Australian Demographic and Social Research Institute. Prior to his present appointment he was head of research at the Australian Institute of Family Studies for a period of 11 years. Peter is renowned for his research on population dynamics and their implications for the labour force and on the outcomes for international migrants in Australia. He has worked closely with government departments and recently conducted a survey of the experiences, motivations and intentions of temporary long-term business migrants to Australia and their employers. He has been actively engaged in the teaching and promotion of demography, while applying interdisciplinary approaches in his research. He holds a PhD degree in Demography from the Australian National University and an Honours degree in Economics Statistics from the University of New South Wales.
DARRYL GREEN
Asia-Pacific President Manpower
Darryl Green is the Executive Vice President for Manpower Inc. and President of the company's Asia and Pacific operations, a position he obtained in May 2007. Prior to joining Manpower, Green served as CEO of Tata Teleservices, India's fastest growing telecom operator, where revenues tripled and market share doubled during his tenure, which began in 2005. Previously, Green was CEO of Vodafone Japan, a publicly listed mobile services provider, where earnings more than doubled and revenues grew to US$15 billion during his three years at the helm. From 1989 to 1998, Green held various management positions within AT&T, including three years as President and CEO of its Japanese operations.
Green holds an MBA from the Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth College and a BA in Japanese/Asian studies from Brigham Young University. He is an American national who speaks fluent Japanese. He has served as the Vice Chairman of the Japan Telecommunications Association and as a member of the Mizuho Financial Group's advisory board.

SCOTT McLACHLAN
Managing Director Manpower

Scott McLachlan was appointed Managing Director of global fortune 500 company Manpower for Australia and New Zealand in 2006. Scott oversees more than 80 operations across Australia and New Zealand which includes the Recruitment Process Outsourcing (RPO) arrangement between Manpower and the Australian Defence Force.
With a focus on ideas, innovation and solutions, Manpower Australia and New Zealand has improved its WIN rate from 23% in 2001 to 70% in 2006 and retained 100% of its Top 20 contracted clients and bettered its customer retention.
During Scott’s tenure as CFO/MD of Manpower, the average operating earnings has grown by 33% per annum. The development and execution of a clear and compelling three year plan to enter the property and business services industry with a new executive-level permanent recruitment offering has also shown 53% growth over the last two years.
Prior to joining Manpower, Scott enjoyed an 18-year career at DuPont and held various financial, general management, business improvement and line management roles both locally and internationally. Scott has a Bachelors Degree in Business Studies from the University of Technology Sydney and is a Fellow of the Australian Society of Certified Practising Accountants.
KEN RANDALL
President National Press Club of Australia

Ken has been a member of the NPC Board since 1975 and President since 1991. Ken was a television presenter specialising in political issues and current affairs (ABC) and currently moderates the weekly National Australia Bank Address. He publishes a newsletter dealing with Pacific region issues and was awarded an OAM in 1997 for services in public affairs, largely due to his years of dedicated service to the National Press Club of Australia.
